Privacy policy

Each player who participates in a tournament hosted by Dreamhack Hannover agrees that player and team names, team logos and sound and image recordings in which the player is reproduced can be used free of charge for publications on websites of Freaks 4U Gaming GmbH, their social media channels and in the context of the press. Freaks 4U Gaming GmbH is thus entitled to a temporally and geographically unrestricted and unlimited use, storage and usage of the material.

The use of multiple GameSports³ or FACEIT user accounts is prohibited and will lead to the immediate disqualification of the participant(s), if both accounts are in the same team account, or if the team was demonstrably aware that it was a multi-account.
By participating in a tournament hosted by Dreamhack Hannover, all participants agree that their game accounts are visible to third parties.

In order to avoid deception and fraud in competitions where fairness and integrity in esports or cash and non-cash prizes are at stake, Freaks 4U Gaming GmbH has a legitimate interest (DSGVO recital 47) in pseudonymizing game accounts and storing them for up to five years after user account deletion.

Each team is responsible for logos, team names etc. itself. The league administration will only intervene if there is evidence of a registered brand name or licensed logo.

The Dreamhack Hannover 2023 administration reserves the right to amend, remove, or otherwise change the rules, without further notice. Cash prizes in team games will be paid to one person designated by the team via bank transfer. Bank transfer to more than one person is not possible.

Additional agreements

By registering for a tournament, the participant agrees to allow Dreamhack to publish their image.

Match rules

Starting the game

The game will start once all participants are present in the lobby. You can check your game status at the tournament widget on the tournament page, or the full schedule on the Info page of the tournament.

Failure to appear / No Show

Each participant has 10 minutes to show up to a match. (Match ready time¹ +10 minutes). Showing up after 10 minutes results in a default loss. Please keep in mind, if a participant did show up in time, but needs to leave the lobby to sort out an issue, it does not count as a no show if they are not back after the match ready time¹ + 10 minutes. Abuse of this exception will lead to a default loss of the match.

Game preparations

Please resolve any problems that might occur before a match starts. Connection or hardware problems during a match could lead to a disqualification by Dreamhack admins.

  • Agreements between the participants need to be posted as match comments.
  • Make sure the match is played with the right lobby settings.
  • Make sure all players are eligible to play. In team games, all players must be registered in their corresponding team. The usage of a player not signed up can lead to disqualification.

Game account

All players must have the correct game account² connected or entered into the Dreamhack Play or FACEIT website. A wrong, missing or outdated game account in your GameSports³ or FACEIT account will cause the player to not be able to join the ingame lobby and the match won’t be able to start.

Player change

You are not allowed to change a player after the start of a match. All players must be part of the GameSports³ Network or FACEIT team, if applicable.

Number of players

A participating team missing a player will get a default loss.

Player drops

There is a total waiting time of 10 minutes per game per team to wait for players to reconnect after drops.

Screenshots

We highly recommend participants take a screenshot of their match results after every game. In case there is a dispute after the game, screenshots can and will be used to solve problems.

Communication & Support

Please use the match page chat or in-game match chat, submit a support ticket for any assistance during the cup or use the dedicated Discord server.

Discretion

All direct communication between players and administration is confidential. The publication of support content is only permitted with written permission from the administration.

Match media

All match media (screenshots, demos, etc) must be kept for at least 7 days. In general, you should upload the match media from a match to the match info page as soon as possible. Faking or manipulating match media is forbidden and will result in severe penalties. Match media should be named clearly based on what it is. It is not possible to file a support ticket to complain about bad match media naming. If an admin is hindered in their work because of bad match media names it might lead to punishments.

Spectators

Spectators inside the Lobby are forbidden (such as coaches, managers or casters). Only official Dreamhack Admins and Observers are allowed. In case there is a caster allowed in the match, an admin will reach out to both teams and notify them about it.

Streaming

  • Streaming is allowed as long as the match does not have an official broadcast.
  • Matches that are played on stage will not be allowed to be streamed at all.

Help and support

General

Any questions or complaints must be submitted via support ticket. The administration cannot be reached by any other means and will not answer any questions beyond that.

Complaints must be submitted via support ticket immediately but no later than 10 minutes after the end of the match. Players are encouraged to attach as much evidence as possible to their ticket and provide as much detail as possible. An upload function for uploading screenshots is available in every match. Uploads to external sites will not be accepted unless specifically requested or required by the administration.

Duty of proof

It is the responsibility of a team to provide sufficient and clear evidence in case of complaints. Complaints that are not clearly presented due to lack of evidence cannot be processed.

When protesting the result, screenshots of all games must always be added to the support ticket.

If one or more players are late or do not show up at all for the game, this must be proven with a screenshot stating the current time.
